dbPlus support

Last updated 19 October 2026

Email info@nicecoder.com with "dbPlus" in the subject. To help us answer quickly, include:

  • your dbPlus version (in the dbPlus menu, choose About dbPlus) and your macOS version
  • the database you're connecting to and its version
  • for an error, the exact message dbPlus shows, including the server's own error text

Never send passwords, connection strings with passwords in them, or data from your databases.

Which databases does dbPlus support?

PostgreSQL 12 and newer, MySQL 8.0 and newer, MariaDB 10.6 and newer, SQLite files, and SQL Server 2017 and newer, including Azure SQL Database. You can connect directly or through an SSH tunnel.

What does the free version include?

Every supported database, browsing, filtering, editing rows, the full SQL editor, saved queries, and importing connections from TablePlus. You can have two connections and three tabs open at a time. dbPlus Premium removes those limits and adds SSH tunnels, structure editing, and import, export, dumps and copying between databases.

How do I restore Premium on another Mac?

Sign in to the Mac App Store with the same Apple Account, open dbPlus, and choose dbPlus › dbPlus Premium…, then Restore Purchases. The same button is in Settings, under Premium.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Follow Apple's guide to cancel a subscription from Apple. Premium stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.

Where are my passwords stored?

In your Mac's Keychain. dbPlus never writes them to its own files. For a connection set to "Ask every time", it stores no password at all.

Why can't I edit a table?

dbPlus needs a way to identify each row before it changes one: a primary key, or a unique index whose columns are all NOT NULL. Tables with neither open read-only, and a banner explains why.

How does dbPlus protect a production database?

Edits are staged and shown as SQL before they run, and they commit in one transaction. Mark a connection as Production and dbPlus asks before anything writes to it. An UPDATE or DELETE without a WHERE clause always asks first.

Terms and privacy
