How do I change a row?

Tap the row. Its sum goes back into the line above the keypad, and an Editing chip shows which row you're changing. Press = to save it, or tap the chip's ✕ to leave the row as it was. Every row below that uses this row's result, by its name or its number, is worked out again.

Touch and hold a row for everything else you can do with it: explain it, use it in the line you're typing, name its result, copy its result, or delete it.

How do names and row numbers work?

Touch and hold a row and choose Name this result, then type a name such as rent. Later rows can use rent in their sums. You can also use a row by its number: #2 is the result of row 2. Use in this line, in the same menu, types the name or number for you.

A row can only use rows above it. If you edit or delete a row that others use, those rows update, or show Error if they can no longer be worked out.

How does percent work?

Like a desk calculator. After + or −, a percent is a share of what comes before it: 200 + 10% is 220, and 80 − 15% is 68. After ×, it takes that share: 50 × 10% is 5. On its own, 15% is 0.15. Tap any result to see each step of the working.

Why does a row say Error?

Its sum can't be worked out. Tap the row to edit it, and Tapewise says why in red, where the result usually shows: a division by zero, a sum that isn't finished, or a name or row number that isn't above that row.

How do the money tools work?

Tap a chip above the keypad: Tip & split, Discount, Tax, Unit price or Currency. All but Unit price start from the number you're typing, or from the last row's result. Fill in the fields, check the result the tool shows, and tap Add to tape. The tool adds an ordinary sum, such as (84.5+15%)÷4, with a note like "Tip 15% · split 4 ways", so you can edit it later like any other row.

Where do exchange rates come from?

From the European Central Bank's reference rates, which it publishes once each working day, through the free Frankfurter service. Tapewise downloads them when you open the Currency tool, at most once every six hours, and keeps the last download on your phone. Offline, it converts with those saved rates, and the row's note shows their date.

They are reference rates, so a bank, a card or a money changer will charge a little more. If the tool says there are no exchange rates yet, connect to the internet once and open it again.

How do I start, switch or delete a tape?

Tap the tape's name at the top to see all your tapes and switch between them. The ⋮ menu has New tape, Rename tape, Clear tape, which empties the tape, and Delete tape. Deleted tapes and rows can't be brought back.

How do I find an old calculation?

Tap the search icon at the top. It searches every tape by sum, name, note and result. Tap a match to open that tape at that row.

How do I share a tape?

Tap the share icon at the top, then choose As a receipt image or As text, and pick the app to send it with.

How do I add the widget or the Quick Settings tile?

• Widget: touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen, tap Widgets, and drag Tapewise onto the screen. It shows the open tape's name, total and last row. Tap New line to type straight into that tape.
• Tile: swipe down twice from the top of the screen, tap the pencil to edit the tiles, and drag New calculation into place. Tapping it opens Tapewise on a new line.

The widget shows your tape's total on the home screen, where anyone who sees your phone can read it. Remove the widget if you'd rather keep it private.

How do I move my tapes to a new phone?

Tapewise has no account, so tapes don't sync. Android's own backup to your Google account, and the transfer from your old phone when you set up a new one, bring Tapewise's tapes along if backup is turned on. To copy a single tape, share it as text.

Tapewise tidak memakai akun, jadi tape tidak disinkronkan. Cadangan bawaan Android ke akun Google Anda, dan pemindahan data dari ponsel lama saat menyiapkan ponsel baru, ikut membawa tape Tapewise jika pencadangan aktif. Untuk menyalin satu tape saja, bagikan sebagai teks.
