What's your favourite Indexu Feature?

Just wondering if we can get some feedback on some of your favourite indexu features.

I myself like the multiple category and the sponsorship feature that expires when you want it. I also love the url spider that checks to see if website links are broken. I also like the who's online feature which I suggested. ty for adding that dody.

This is probably one of the best upgrades in the last year, which was well worth the delay. Great thanks to Dody for his hardwork.

What's The Catch?

OK - There has to be some catch here. I bought IndexU and it installed flawlessly in about 5 mins. It's super easy to customize. And so far - everything is working right out of "the box". This isn't the norm for me!! You guys have done an outstanding job on IndexU. Money well spent (for once).

Why Indexu is the Best

Before deciding to purchase Indexu almost a year ago, I carefully researched all of the links directory software on the market. So why did I decide to go with Indexu?

• It was MySQL/PHP based, which meant it would be easy to work with and wouldn’t overload my server like a Perl based links indexing system would.
• It had an active support community where posts that contained honest criticisms of the product weren’t deleted. To me this said a lot about the honesty and integrity of the people selling the product.
• The price made it an incredible value.
• It had an incredible number of features.

Once I purchased the product I was pleased to find:

• That it is incredibly easy to install on a Unix/Linux web server.
• It is a hands on script. Once you get it installed and start modifying it, you will discover it is incredibly easy to work with and modify.

Over the last year I observed something wonderful happen. The users’ community has grown tremendously, and almost all support questions are addressed in this forum.

I have been using Indexu for over a year and highly recommend it!

Easy To Modify

Over the past year I have greatly modify Indexu, including adding other scripts within Indexu. This has proven to be simple with just a little experience and experimentation. The template system has allowed me to customise my site and make changes while the site is live - without risking any off line time and losing valuable customers.

Easy To Optimise For Search Engines

The best way to generate traffic is to optimise your site for "Google", the Indexu platform has allowed me to do just this - I now rank number one for numerous key search words generating hundreds of hits a day, infact my traffic has increased over 200% in the last few month by making simple changes to the templates, I now out rank other directories using competitor scripts.

Since all the basic pieces are in place from the start, I have been able to slowly modify my site as time and experience has allowed making this an excellent tool for novice and experienced webmasters.

Best products in the market in the $99 price- range

Indexu is one of the best products that I have seen when it comes to portal products. It is easy to use and the team behind it seems to listen to the end-users suggestions (and sometimes complains) so that they can improve the quality of Indexu.

It has improved so much lately so that it is probably one of the best products in the market in the $99 price- range.

Indexu comes with several outstanding features and functions, which other portal developers charge extra for.

I highly recommend other portal users to try the product but be aware that you probably will migrate from your current portal script once you have tried Indexu.

What does Craven think?

So what do I think of Indexu? Here it is.

Before I purchased Indexu I checked out about every other link indexing script available. The biggest problem I found was that most scripts didn't include all the features that I wanted OR were way over priced ($450). I tried many of them out only to be disappointed with the results. Some of the free scripts were just as good as the commercial ones.

Then came Indexu! I bought it uploaded it and couldn't get things to work at first. I posted messages that took days to get answered. I kept asking myself "Why did I waste my money on this script?" That didn't last long. I learned most of the problems I experienced were from me being new to PHP and MySQL and not Indexu itself.

Now it's 10 months later. I've learned that Indexu is a very powerful yet simple program that can be easily modified to do exactly what you want it to do. The template system is very easy to use and customize. The updated version (arriving soon) has most of the features I've been waiting for.

Customer Support has really been turning around lately with the arrival of Hart House and I expect it to continue to get better.

If you're looking to buy a great link indexing script at a great price then I would highly recommend giving Indexu a try. I'm extremely happy that I tried it out and stuck with it.
