    Default template tutorial?

is there any kind of template tutorial available? could be handy
other question, when a new version comes out, it's almost certain that templates must be updated. How de we know what has changed so we can update the template?

At this time there isn't. A manual was just created for installation and a second manual detailing how to modify things in the admin panel is underway. It should be available soon.

Default Template Tutorial -- Where is it?

    Bruce,

Your 2005 message states a template tutorial is forthcoming. Where can I find it?

    2005 message?

No guide is complete other than the install guide. There are numerous places on this forum where I discussed why development stopped and has recently continued.

Default Looking for an Install Guide

    Bruce,

Sorry, I ref'd your 2005 start date vice the summer 2007 message post date (two or three posts above). Have surfed around the forums but not found a link or directions regarding where to d/l the Install Guide.

I know I'm new, inexperienced, and you've helped me quite a bit in direct email-email posts this week --- but I can't help but believe your stress level would be much lower if your Install Guide was included in both the free and paid .zip files and your forum .sig file included a link to your Install Guide.

I'm a fan of LINUX and GNU software (but not a programmer or guru of any sort). Free support is included in the form of forum participation and copius, well written, user support FAQs and HOWTO guides. Has IndexU tried creating a FAQ, wiki or similar "thing" to enable the experienced users to be proactive, without getting burned out while allowing new users to get their questions answered quickly?

    Thanks.

    Allen.

I have zero control over the website or the files that are included with the zip files, therefore I must count on my site, the threads I have previously posted and the search feature of the forum to assist me.

There was a FAQ, that site has since died. I've taken it upon myself to do the install guide (approx 7 hours) and the admin/mod guide (10+ hours, 20% complete). These things take time, and there's more things to do in life than just make a help manual unfortunately.

    Bruce,

Have you requested to have your Install Guide included in the .zip files? Even if it's unfinished it may be of great use. My two outstanding questions are (1) where is this help guide available (pref. not on another site) and (2) how do I install the themes?

Both questions could be answered if I had decent documentation in-hand. Unfortunately, I don't.

The install guide is complete, and has been for three months.

If you don't want to download from another site then you're not going to be able to get the guide. The origional thread is here http://www.nicecoder.com/community/s...ead.php?t=5092 and has been there for three months. The link is a direct download and doesn't require anyone to register for anything. Click it and get it, simple.

Install a theme by uploading it to the /themes/ folder. Then CHMOD the appropriate files just like you did for the the kosmos theme accoring to both the install guide and the readme in the indexu distribution zip file.

The install guide doesn't detail themes, only installation of the script onto your server
