    Exclamation Is IndexU 5.1.1 stable enough?

    Hi,

    I'm in the process of getting a custom design for IndexU 5.1.1 Is it stable enough at this current release? I don't want to spend some $$$ on a custom design if it's buggy or if there will be many future (imminent) upgrades.

    Opinions from fellow users/admins appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    the templates and design are unlikely to be effected with any code changes.

    if you made aload of code changes, and added piles of mods to the site then choose a release and stick with it, or make your mods "modular" as in, independant from the code as much as possible.

    Stable? I think in terms of bugs it is hard to say. In all honesty, there are just not enough users of v5.x (let alone any specific version such as v5.1.1) to really say about the bugs. Many have been found and dealt with in v5.1.1. But there are one or two troubling ones still unresolved and of course there are those bugs not yet found.

    dody has not shared with us any future improvements to INDEXU. Yet, I can think of several. Just a guess on my part but I suspect there are some important features that will be added in the future. And if the past is any predictor of the future, they could 2 to 3 years down the road.

    But then given the tsunami's, eathquakes and volcano's in that part of the world, who knows what will happen.

    We're lucky here, we're far from the volcano and earthquake. It's about 6 hours by driving car away.

    @gariben:
    5.1.1 is stable, but it doesn't mean there's no more bugs. Usually we release new version each month to eliminate bugs.
