How to add commas to number of links and categories

Does anyone know how to edit the script to make it when the number of links or categories is shown, that it correctly places the comma where appropriate?

For example, right now my website is showing

Links 24866
Categories 3064
Unique Outgoing Hits 8614

I would prefer if it was formatted like

Links 24,866
Categories 3,064
Unique Outgoing Hits 8,614

If I remember correctly it's all in how php displays/returns the numbers and nothing to do with the script. You could modify the script to return the comma's but that's more work than it's worth.
