I know it's a scary price, but if you work with templates regularly then you can't do without it.

You could always download the 30 day trial

Apparently this program is a good editor for windows http://www.getpaint.net/features.html and it has a PSD plugin available at http://frankblumenberg.de/doku/doku....tnet:psdplugin This one is free

Apparently Firewords can also work with PSD files, but I've never used it. The purchase price is 299 for this one.

Quite often you can LEGAL copies of photoshop off ebay that are one or two versions old for a lot less than the current retails price. Be careful about buying software as Photoshop is one of the most scammed software products out there. Many sites (and spam) will offer you photoshop for $99 and all you're buing is a trial version with a non legal activation code.

late for this one, i know.
just a hint: GIMP 2.0 (Gnu Image Manipulation Package / Program) is an excellent and very professional program that will open Photoshop docs, edit them, and save them out as PSD as well. I work in web development and I regularly switch back and forth with the same document, depending on what I want to do with it. And over half the time I stick with just GIMP. Worth a download, at least. Some people are on a mission against opensource software regardless of quality, and to those I would say that i'm not after a fight - this is just a suggestion to help out, and I'm not going to respond to trolls.

Default Adobe Photoshop Elements will do!

You can use Adobe Photoshop Elements at $99 to read/modify the PSDs.

That makes me feel a little better knowing that I wasn't going insane! LOL

Was that done by design?? Is it that they forgot to release it or they dont ever plan to?

If I remember correctly, it was not released because the person who created the design in the first place did not give the psd to Nicecoder, only the final graphics.
