Background Container Div - Slow to Load

Has anyone noticed that if you put a div into the code... and put in a background.... that in the css templates (like blackjuice) that when there is alot of data being loaded...... like say you have alot of categories etc .. the background doesnt fully load till the end.....

youll either know exactly what i mean or be completely lost ... just thought id see if anyone else has noticed this.... Ive tried to fix it ... but i think its because the background div doesnt close till the end of the code (like the first thing to open and last to close)

You could load it in css instead
