NiceBackup v0.9 RC1 is the first public beta of NiceBackup. We would like as much feedback and any bug reports as possible to be posted. You may post your bug reports on this thread or to the Project Tools

The FAQ
What are the plans for NiceBackup?
We plan on releasing NiceBackup with two versions. The free version will be totally functional but will not have the scheduling feature.

The paid version will have the scheduling feature enabled and will cost less than $20. We do not have a final price yet.

I heard about something for hosts?
We plan on offering a private branded version of NiceBackup for hosts. It will be the same program, but will have your company name on it. You can distribute this to your clients or on the internet for advertising. No cost has been decided for this.

Will there be a manual?
Of course, but we haven't written one yet. The program really isn't that difficult to use though and most users should not have an issue with setup.

Will there be an installer?
Yes there will, but since this is a beta we decided just a zip file would do for now. On final release there will be an installer and for the branded version the installer can be customized with branding.

So why release this?
Because of the massive need for backups! There are easily tens of thousands of users out there that should have backups and don't. There are easily thousands of users that rely on their hosts for backups.

The reality is, many hosts don't keep current backups and most users don't have a backup strategy in place.

There are many horror stories on forums about hosts not having backups even when they promised they would keep daily backups. The truth is that you should not rely on others to protect your data. With NiceBackup you can have a current backup that is ready to upload to a new host instantly!
