I will assume this is for IndexU Deluxe. First make sure IndexU is set to use UTF-8, then make sure your database is set to UTF-8, then the language file can be tried both ways.

Of crouse also make sure that your browser is set to be able to ready utf-8 (most of them are by default)

The instructions are all over the website, here's what you need to do.

    1) Set IndexU to use UTF-8
    2) Make sure your database is using UTF-8
    3) Ensure that your PHP is compiled with gettext
    4) If the language file doesn't work add .utf8 to the end of the file name (ie pl_PL.utf8)

If it still doesn't work then it's likely a server issue or you may have uploaded the file in binary mode instead of ascii mode.
