Default Why in the detail page "
" shows up?

    Hi,

    Any idea why when some one adds description and applies line break, then in the detail page "
" shows up?

    Have a look here please;
    http://www.weddingsonly.com.au/detai...ographics.html

    This is only happening in Delux version

    Is it because HTML is not allowed in the description field???

    I don't know what happened, but I replied to this thread two day ago.

    HTML is allowed in descriptions, but here's what you have in your description

    Code:
    Aiming to make YOUR day a bit more special....<br />
<br />
You have <br /> which when viewed by a browser is parsed as code, and not as HTML. Search for <br /> and replace it with
You posted another thread too and it's not here. I don't remember what the post was about but I know you did post something and I answered it.

    It's not sitting as deleted, so I can only assume someone restored a backup of the database and we lost some threads and/or replies.

    * This is the first time I am reporting this, I have no idea what is the other thread!

    * We (advertisers) are not using HTML
    * I am not using "<br />
<br />
" at all!

    This is how the description looks like in the admin area, but some how it changes in the front end!!!?

    Aiming to make YOUR day a bit more special....

    Perhaps you are confused with my other post regarding my GIF images which were not showing because of Symantec, and you have already replied that post, but it was a totally different issue.

    Don't look at the description in the admin area, look at it in the database and you'll see the code.

    Well, how can I avoid this problem? It doesn't look good, basically it is not really possible to when some one add a new link I go to the database and fix it. I tried to fix it in Admin area, and I couldn't. Any how my question is why it is happening and how I can avoid it?

    Cheers

    No idea how it happened, I can only assume someone copied and pasted from a bad HTML editor like MS Word.

    Hi Bruce,

    No, it is not that, whenever we add a new listing or edit one, it happens, we do not copy and paste, and it only happens in the description field, not the custom flied!? As soon as we hit "ENTER" on the keyboard for "Line Break" it creates
?

    Perhaps it is some thing that yourself or Dody can check in my Admin area?

    It's not IndexU doing it, I've used HTML in descriptions for a long time now and never an issue.

    I would suggest looking at your browser and seeing if you have some type of plugin that is altering the HTML.

    Did you get this resolved?

    I still can't replicate this in Deluxe and I've tried everything I can think of.

    Hi Bruce,

    I think I worked it out, it is all to do with the new <%t%> and <%/t%> tags that Delux uses, if you put any html code inside <%t%> and <%/t%> it will show it like that.

    In my source I had
after "description" tag and I removed them.

    So simply all of the html commands have to be outside <%t%><%/t%>. I kind of knew this but worked it out after you insisted that it is not IndexU doing it.

    Thanks any way

    It's the smarty causing the issue?!

    I'll have to talk to Dody about that and see if there's anything that can be done about it.
