template editing help

hi folks. i tried downloading the template from my server and uploaded them via ftp but i don't see the changes happening... then i tried editing them via the admin cp page but it gave me the following errors:

and for wich version is your template?

You need to chmod 777 all cleandex files.

piet: i used to use 1.2 but i'm now using 2.4.. still having the same problem.

After you chmod 777 all cleandex files, clear the template cache

yeah, clear template files. This is one of disadvantage of smarty templates.
