Let´s talk about .... Google and ... SERPs and ISEO (Indexu Search Engine Optimization) and Google Penalty and Webmaster guidelines and the last but not the least : What happened to my 500 daily visitors ?
My story begins when I remembered to do a directory of online shops. Everything went well ... Google indexes my site too fast, my pages appear almost always on the first page of Google results, I had almost 500 visitors per day. I have almost 10.000 pages indexed.
Now I barely get to 100 visitors and only with the help of ADWORDS!
What happened?
What I did wrong?
Avoid hidden text or hidden links?
Not at all!
Do not use cloaking or sneaky redirects.
Not at all!
Do not send automated queries to Google.
I use webceo software from webceo.com ! I do not believe that this may have affected me otherwise I might harm any competitor!
Do not load pages with irrelevant keywords.
Not at all!I just filled all the ALT tags of images with relevant words.
Do not create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.
Well in my google webmasters i see i have duplicate content. But only 72 pages in 10000 have duplicate content! I started to implement now the new rel = "Canonical".
If I do a search for site: mydomainname.com my pages are still indexed. So im not banned from google. But when I do a search for my most relevant keywords which previously appeared in 3 or 4 place, now appears in twentieth or thirtieth place!
I would like to make two questions to the community:
1:
I did the upgrade to version 1.3.2 and indexu as you well know change the tag's url's. Now instead mydomainname.com/tags/business+directory we have mydomainname.com/tags/business-directory ... after this change, google found many 404 pages. Could this have caused all this problem?
2:
You consider to be a good option to improve the results at google, choose to put the rel nofollow at every link? this may influence the position in Google results?
