How to create different options for basic/premium/sponsored?

Hello all,

It would be great to create more difference between basic/sponsored/premium listings, in order to motivate customers to opt for paid listings.

Would somebody know how to achieve the following:

[1] for the Description field, set different maximum numbers for characters to be used; in example Basic listing: max 500 chars, Premium listing: max 1000 chars, Sponsored listing: max 1500 chars. Also have the plugin Char Counter show the set maximum chars number when adding a specific listing.

[2] for the Keywords field, set set different max. characters to be used; in example Basic listing: max 100 chars, Premium listing: max 200 chars, Sponsored listing: max 500 chars

Everything you mentioned above can be done. Although you'll need some PHP experience. Basically you'll use <%if> statements...

It would be way to hard for me to explain everything over this post, but I suggest searching the forum. There are tons of mentions for <if> statements.

Also, if you have the funds, you might want to see if you can get a programmer to create a plugin for you to do this. That way, you wont have to hack any of the core files and it will make upgrading alot easier
