Displaying Subcats

Hi

I would like to display subcategorys using the <%$category%> command for a site im working on. Previously when browsing through many template files I recall seeing somthing like <%$category|whateversubcatis%> to display this.

Im running indexu deluxe 1.0

Please tell me this is possible and is a simple call

Where you do want to display the subcats? On what page or block do you want them to appear?

Subcats already appear on the index page, what exactly are you trying to do?

Yes they are limited but that can be changed easily.

Ok I want to display the contents of 2 cats within their own <div> 's.

I think a picture is in need here



individual and collective are subcategorys of the "main category", these are hidden as the titles are not relvant to the customer, also they will probally be the only 2 sub cats of the main cat


a:\ individual
b:\collective

in there own divs, both at the same time on the index.html page

I know of no easy way to do it, I tried a number of other ways and either it didn't work or I received errors.

I did search this thread but im not sure about what it actually does or what dody ment.

I hoped the solution would be a simple call like <%$category|whateversubcatis%>.

I tried <%$category|whateversubcatis%>, <%$category|catnumber%>, <%$category|catpath%>, <%$category=='catnumber'%> and a few others all to no avail. Perhaps I'm missing something as well.
