Question can't send tester email to ourselves to test and see it

in the mailing system in the admin panel, when you create a mail template, and then want to send the email to yourself, their is no option for the test email to go to ourselves.

or actually, when you click on "Test Email Only?" option...and click on the "send to" drop down list, their is no option to have the email send just to us as the site owners.

you can send it to everyone else, except for ourselves.

    please help and resolve.

    thanks,
    Jamesst

Probably something that should be added in the next update. But in the mean time, why not make up a user and give that user your e-mail address.

only problem with that, is that you cannot individually send an email to one particular person in the mail admin area. unless their is something that i'm missing.

you can only send emails to the various groups...(ie. editors, webmasters, etc.)

Hi, actually you can use Recipient Filter feature but today I've checked that this feature is not working.

yeah....that was one of the reasons that hindered you from being able to do that.

as mentioned before....we should really test everything before the next update so that it runs not only solid, but also saves time for everyone.

because it seems like what happens is that in the long run we (supporters & nicecoder support) all wind up wasting a lot of time dealing with all of this.

i think this would be a good thing for everyone. :~)

    thanks again,

Hi, we cannot test it one by one. Every software always has bugs.

By the way, here's the fix.
Download the file I attached here and extract it. Replace the admin_tpl/ajax.js with the file I attached.

Now you can use the filter to send email to your self.

    Thanks for your reports Jamesst.

very true....i totally understand that. but just to test it before release would be good, but i has to be done efficiently. so if you need someone like me to do that...just let me know.

By the way, here's the fix.

replaced it....now how does this work pungky? as in like an example given.

    Thanks for your reports Jamesst.

"Replace it", as in overwrite the current file with this new one

I thinks what Jamesst means is the example of how to use the filter.

    Here's I give you a screenshot.

In this screenshot, you must register in the mailing list subscriber first. You also can use send to registered user then choose username filter. There is a limitation when you use send to registered user, you cannot send to admin. So, you must add a new tester user.

    Hope this explanation help you.

as in how does it work.

at any rate.....i did everything you said pungky:

    created a new user
    signed up
went to mail to get confirmation code
    clicked confirmation link
    and.......
    this came up.

Do you register a new user or add email in the mailing list?

I have checked both of them and everything works. Can you tell me what the confirmation link is.

now i'm going to mess with the variables and see how they work.

so in the next day or so i'm going to create a custom mail template for people to use and they can just cut and paste it from here and take it from there.

right now i'm feeling really good about this, this is good stuff.

btw....if anyone is reading this thread, please provide feedback on the poll located at the top of this page, that would be helpful and good for everyone to see.
