Two people asking a similar question in six months does not make a "frequently asked question". In your example, you mentioned clicking on Canada. First I have to ask, where did you click on Canada? From the listing of categories on the index? I will assume the answer is yes. Once you click on Canada you are taken to browse.php?catid=x (x equals Canada). Browse.php is what all subcategories use to display themselves. Saying that, once you are in a subcategory, you only see further subcats of the subcat you clicked on. So for Canada you would see Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta etc. You would not see any of the main level categories at all. In order to see the main level categories you would need to have them as subcats of Canada which you're not going to do because they don't belong there. So your options are to have a block on the sidebar with your main level categories, or a clear path back to "root" (the index). Again that leads you back to what I said earlier with the following <%block_category_list parent_id="0" title="Main Category"%> <- shows all main cats Now if I'm still not understanding you then you're going to have to explain yourself in a lot more detail, perhaps include a screenshot or even a drawing.
