weird thing happened

i was adding a new category to my site then adding sub category to add yet another sub category

Perl -> Scripts - > types... Ad management,etc

So i added all the ad management under Perl instead of under the subdirectory scripts. I go back and try to edit it and all of a sudden it starts not allowing me to add new categories.

How so? Does it just hang when you try to edit and add?

This just happened to me tonight and this is the error i get after about a minute or 2 of waiting

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/enter url here/httpdocs/lib/category.class.php on line 312

You might have a corrupted file that is causing the script to exceed the execution time.

Try to reinstall Indexu in a different directory and see if it is working. It it does work then you have a corrupted file somewhere.

The Internet is currently experiencing a lot of DoS attacks on various data centres which can cause bumpy connections.

So if you happened to upload a file during an attack then it might become corrupted.

no uploading.
the site isnt even live yet.
I was using the admin interface to add new links
It happend right after I tried to edit a category

Try to download a new fresh copy from the Indexu web site and see if it works better.

As I said earlier on, sometimes the Internet can have bumpy connections and if you happen to download a file during the bumpy connection then it can become corrupted during the download.
