    Default Upgrading 5.3 to 5.4

Ive got my site woeking just as I would like it but 5.4 has some features i would like.
Ive downloaded the 5.4 but am a bit worried about doing the upgrade, the last thing i want is problems with the site as its running good now.
My question, should it be straightforward?
Is there anything i need to do to make it go straightforward?

    thanks

    yes the files in /themes/yourtheme/

You MAY need to replace two files in your theme however. Those are msg.php and setting.php. Don't overwrite them unless you get errors. Of course you can always post here for clarification.

And that file is correct, you do not need to overwrite application.php.

Of course, always make a backup of everything first.

Edit-turning modrewrite off makes the site work, so ive done that for now but i really need to fix the issue.

As answered in your PM, update your category paths.
