Special Character problem

I am using INDEXU 5.01. I have just changed the sever and the new MySQL is version 4.1.14. But I found hat I can not add new listing which has special character like "'" in title and description. In my previous server, I found that it does not have such problem and the MySQL version of the previous server is 4.0.25. Please help to advise what I should do to correct such problem.

It must be the php configuration.

Thanks very much. I have checked and the magic_quotes_gpc is set to off in the new server. As I am using a shared sevice, it is impossible for me to change the sever config. Please advise if there is any way to correct this.

The latest version can work with magic_quotes_gpc = off
