I was reading something about Google the other day that said the max PR was 9 ( seems like google reserves 10 for itself ).
On that basis, seems like a 7 would be pretty high.
This is a good question and everyone should be willing to share what they have done to improve their ranking...

What is a lots of visitor? Overal I got a little over 90.000 uniques visitor a month (3.000.0000 hits) how does it rates on your scale? My site rank 5.

3000 UV per day is ok, 3000000 is very good
Do you have an online counter to see the stats ?

No I look in myserver stats, it is more acccurate. Counter give you the number of time a page was seen, sometime the number of visitor within a 24 hours period but never the number of single visitor for a month. The number of single visitor does not count the fact that an individual may come several time during a given time period

Page ranking and how many visitors you get are 2 different things.
I have a page rank 5 on many sites that only have 10 visitors a day.
QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY is the name of the game. I could have 5,000 people linking to my site but if they all have a 0, 1 or 2 page rank then the quality is not good compared to a site that has 100 sites linking to it that have higher quality page ranks of 6-9 page rank.
Also another thing to consider is how many outbound links does the site linking to you have? If you they have a LOT of links, it will not be as good of quality than if they had fewer links.

you are right, there two different things, much visitors and PR.
because of this I ask for both, good pages and pages with high PR.
It needs to long time to explain why I want my PR from minimum 8, but you can be sure I know what I do
