I was thinking the same thing, but my sitemap.php did not work (see another thread).

So, now that my sitemap.php works well, i'm thinking it could be uselful to create automatically a "map.php" page with all the links to the categories.

I tried to modifiy sitemap.php to create a "html" file, but it did not work. I'm not a developer and I hate code

So, could anybody continue the mod I started ?

    I just put that
    PHP Code:
      $content .=

    "<a href=\"".

    "$site_url/$cat_url\"".

    "$name".

    "</a><br />".

    "\n"
    instead of that :

    PHP Code:
        $content .=

    "<url>\n".

    "  <loc>$site_url/$cat_url</loc>\n".

    "  <changefreq>$category_changefreq</changefreq>\n".

    "  <priority>$category_priority</priority>\n".

    "</url>\n"
and I added "html stuff" (html, head and body tags), but nothing works (and it's normal that nothing works)

i myself hate codings too...i know html and css only. I think there are many grounds on which Nicecoder has to work to make Indexu much better and advanced. Yes there are a lot of features but they should go on adding what people and clients have been asking....

I think it wrong for us to expect indexu to grow with all the features we want... without putting in the hard yards ourselves..

I dont know what other people feel, but as long as the core program is being worked on (which it is) then the value for money is very competative.... Im happy for you to try and show me other software which offers this kind of enviroment.... but ive had a pretty decent look around and indexu is certainly right up there.....

I think because there are so many applications and ways you can use the script its hard to say what added features would be best to add...

I like the idea of things like seo'ing things like the search etc..... because that will bring people to your site, where sitemaps rely on the fact that they are there in the first place, (im sure some people would argue that the sitemap will also be indexed well and then also bring more people, but compare it to if the search page was done then its comparing unlimited results pages being seo'ed compared to the 1 sitemap) also, how much of a sitemap is needed really if you structure your directory in a logical format...

Just a few thoughts from me, looking forward to everyone elses

    Cheers Ezy

Yahoo sitemap is a good addition. But people sitemap? I think the website itself should do the job. Indexu itself is well structured and your job is to make good navigation for other pages.

I agree with Ezykiwi and Dody. Ezykiwi has some nice logical thoughts. Well! we do not want every features to be added but some good features for "SEO" (yahoo sitemap, one way linking programs, etc.) to be added in Indexu to make it more and more useful and to drive all the paid directory people, here.

I am a SEO myself, and learning it for last 2 years. I do not have any doubt that I'll be purchasing Indexu but just need to get my own template first, one way link hacking code and some tests. If it goes fine, I wouldn't mind purchasing even unlimited version and creating whole lots of directory which would only require some promotion, my daily 30 minutes and rest is left out for search engines to handle.

I would again ask Indexu/Nicecoder to work and focus on SEO aspects in coming years beacuse it will only make you stand in the market, because people want return for what they have paid and SEO is the only way in which they could get the return and coming back to you again and again.
