    Default RSS & Sitemap Issues

    Hi

Have two issues and was looking for some help.

    1. My RSS feeds do not seem to work and return nothing. Using litaka template . URL example is http://nassaucountybusinessdirectory...s.php?type=new I tried searching for RSS here but too short wording I guess.

    2. How would I create an XML sitemap to send to Google Webmaster tools with categories that are populated...or all categories/pages if not possible.

    thanks kevin

ok got the sitemap going but why all the tar files and also a .xml file?

also in IE the rss link is blank but in Mozilla it works fine. Why? Is this a bug?

    thanks kevin

To run the sitemap follow the directons in the readme.txt that comes with IndexU. Or you can run yourdomain.com/sitemap.php

Where do you see tar files? Perhaps you meant gzipped files (tar and gzip are two different things). The multiple files are meant to seperate things out. The only thing you need to be concerned with is running sitemap.php and pointing search engines to sitemap_index.xml.gz

Note - do not gunzip these files, they need to stay just like they came when you downloaded the IndexU package.

Your rss feed works fine. If you can't see it in IE then talk to microsoft, because there's nothing wrong with it.

for the sitemap you would use googles webmaster tools and point not to the .xml file but the .gz file?

    thanks

You point Google Sitemaps to the sitemap_index.xml.gz file, and nothing else.
