Reviews and Broken Link Report

I have just installed 3.04 over 3.02

Every time I click from the admin view on:

Review or Broken Link Report, I get the same error message which is

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/sites/site1/web/english/lib/category.class.php on line 297

The other issue is that whenever I enter admin and password in login by going to www.site.any/indexu/admin, then I would be redirected to the HOME page!!!! Then I have to re-type again www.site.any/indexu/admin to see the admin area

Also when I went to approve the links (2 links) from admin, it took more than 5 minutes to do so!!

Please give us your comments in this issue.

Duser, please check again your category structure. The structure may be corrupt. You can check it in admin cp -> category -> view hierarchy. Make sure all categories have it's parent. In normal operation the structure is not easy become corrupt, it may cause by importing category or executing sql query.

Nothing is wrong with the category structure - The browse is working fine as well as the hierarchy -

I asked three questions and you just answered one!!

We have 2070 category and they seem to be working fine even when we do a search, we get a drop down box with all category!!

I wish I could show it to you but we are working on it locally...

I just viewed the Hierarchy and it seemed to be working just fine and I browsed to the deepest possible sub-categories! It is slow some how but it is working so the structure is not the problem.

How can we fix such a problem!!

Fatal error messages are usually a result of editing files and forgetting some tags or over writting tags that the .php file requires. If you edited a file replace it and try to upload that file again. Error should go away.

In regards to admin login, I'm not too sure why you experiencing this problem or have to login twice.

Lastly, If it takes you 5 minutes to approve a link its definitely your server. Maybe your server had a slow moment.

I deleted the links in review table and bad link table and they work.

One question!!!

How come Write Review is not fixed!! In other words, if I click on it and the user name and password comes out then I enter it and it redirect me to PAGE NOT FOUND!!

I thought I have touched on this issue before and it should have been fixed in this version? Can you explain why it was not fixed!!

I'm still using 3.0.3 and we had to setup a write a review hack to bypass the login. I hope dody doesn't force people to register cause I think its a bad idea in general.

Last I heard, dody was working on rewriting or fixing this review problem so stay tune.

If you in dire need of a fix, I think there is a hack somehere in the hack forums about writing a review.

Well I have writen a fix before but I never got Dody commenting on it nor he got it fixed.

Even the admin login!! It redirects to HOME PAGE instead of admin area if user name and password are right!!

Also after I wrote the review bypassing the above problem by logging in first then writing the review, I noticed when I click on see the rating, I get an error 'cause the category id is not passed correctly and a string is being passed instead of the category id or number!!!!!!!!!!!

Any explainations!!

I've never seen anyone have this many problems with indexu before.

My suggestion as you have asked.

back up all your files through the admin section.

Delete everything on your sever and do a fresh install using 3.0.4

That is what I would do, as oppose to trying to fix all these problems you are having which is either an installation error or bug.

I'd check to see of my path settings were correct.

My best advice would be to backup, delete and reinstall.
