    Hi morgankd:

Don't think ESM has totally completed this mod yet - once done anyone using the mod is going to be very pleased with the Search engine results.

I'll be releasing an update to v3.2E Enhanced in the next couple of days.

I'm still looking at various options to see what works best...

OK, having fooled around with the mod_rewrite, I've settled on a couple of things.

First, I can show all the categories and sub cats in the following format:
    Code:
    http://www.yoursite.com/business-to-business.html
I can show all of the pagination hyperlinks in the following format:
    Code:
    http://www.yoursite.com/browse-business-to-business-1.html
where the -1 is the page number (e.g., 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, etc)

I can show all of the remaining hyperlinks in the following format:
    detail:
    Code:
    http://www.yoursite.com/detail-free-traffic-tons-of-software-to-resell-1152.html
    go to url:
    Code:
    http://www.yoursite.com/go-free-traffic-tons-of-software-to-resell-1152.html
If you are willing to live with a little slower displaying of the page ( which will not be a factor for the most part if you use the cached files available in v3.2/v3.2E Enhanced, then I could probably remove the -1152 from the detail and go hyperlinks.

As part of this MOD for v3.2E Enhanced, I have made the replacement of characters in the Category Title and the Link name much more flexible. While I don't know much about foreign characters and how they work on the internet, those of you who have to contend with that issue, should find it easy to work with...

You can see the above in action at: http://www.indexuhelp.com/indexu32e/

the second thing about the mod_rewrite feature is that I want to work on an alternative method using just PHP and a single line in the mod_rewrite htacces file to see if I can create the perfect Search Engine URL. I have an idea that may work. It may not. but I want to try it.

For those of you who have purchased v3.2E Enhanced, I will release an update in the next couple of days containing this improved mod_rewrite.

Regarding hyphen and underscore, the answer is:

Google regards a url with underscore as one word, but still matches keywords in that url.

Use hyphens to be maximum seo frindly, that is the optimal way to go.

And I am happy to see that you have finally made it:

    http://www.indexuhelp.com/indexu32e/...-business.html

    Congratulations!

Now I need your help installing it on my site :-)
