Question Pb to Import Categories and Link

    Hi,

I installed the last version of indexu. All is working Ok except that I can't import existing categories and link tables.

I created them with the same version in local mode on my computer and wanted to upload them on my website with the import command in the admin pannel.

But, when i try to import them, i receive this message :

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /space_3/idroit/www/admin/db_import.php on line 342

    Warning: fopen("/tmp/phpmErJ5I", "r") - Operation not permitted in /space_3/idroit/www/admin/db_import.php on line 342

Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid File-Handle resource in /space_3/idroit/www/admin/db_import.php on line 343

Can you help me ? I don't know what does it mean and how to solve this problem.

    Thank you for your help.

I need more info on what version you are importing from and to.

What did you back up on your old database and did you add new categories before you updated?

You must not add any categories but install the backup data first.

Please provide more background on what you did.

    Default More Info

I used indexu 3.x on my computer in local mode (localhost). It's the same version which is on my website.

I insert categories in the mysql (indexu) base contained on my computer via the admin interface of Indexu.

Then, i wanted to transfer to the mysql (indexu) base of my website on the net, all the categories i created in local mode (ie disconnected).

For that purpose, i export the "category" table with indexu admin pannel and then i try to import it on my website (mysql) via the import command of the indexu admin pannel of my site.

But at that moment, it refused to import the data of the table. Altough, it is the same format of data, as it is the same version of indexu in Local mode and on the net.

    I hope i'm clear.

    thank you for your help,

I'm not sure if indexu would write the database the same way on localhost as it would on the server.

So basically, what you are telling me is that you tested indexu on your localhost and now you want to install what you setup on your localhost to your server host?

So basically you have an ok installation of indexu on your server and now want to import the files created on localhost to server mysql host.

I'm not sure that indexu writes the same way to localhost as it would to server, as in path and directory. Are you importing it in the samel file extension? text?

Try backing up a test of the server files and compare them to your localhost files to see any differences.

I just think its too complicated to try to setup something on localhost and then try to import it to a real database. For example different versions of php and mysql and other tags that are added when you edit these scripts with wysiwig editors and unwated tags.

Again you would have to compare the files you are uploading cause as of right now I don't see anything problem with the uploading of backedup files that I've saved from the server.

Again lets look at your problem:

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /space_3/idroit/www/admin/db_import.php on line 342

Says file is in wrong directory meaning you've probably created a directory on your localhost that is either assigned another value on the web host.

    Warning: fopen("/tmp/phpmErJ5I", "r") - Operation not permitted in /space_3/idroit/www/admin/db_import.php on line 342

I think this is a permission error or syntax error within the the backup that isnt' recognized by the import script.

Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid File-Handle resource in /space_3/idroit/www/admin/db_import.php on line 343

Wrong file type for the upload

Can you help me ? I don't know what does it mean and how to solve this problem.

The really isn't a script error or anything. Its just a bad backup file caused by your localhost and setup.

No one can fix this unless they know what you have setup on your localhost and what you've done.

My suggestion is to use indexu admin cpanel to edit/add/delete or backup database to ensure you have a working database.

    Themis,

Do you have phpMyAdmin installed in your local computer? If so, just dump the database and then paste the resulted queries to your website. This will ease you.

If you're using the same version. You can use backup/restore instead using phpmyadmin
