    Default Paid preferred listings?

    Hello,

On the main page of www.nicecoder.com, it has a box that the user can select the payment/duration amount. It looks like this:

I don't see this, or anything like it in my control panel. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Greg

its not your admin panel, its the users control panel - they choose the duration when htey pay. you can setup the times and discounts under the setup section.
Main IndexU sites : | Campsite Directory | Tourist Guide | Places2B | AfterDirectory <-- Half price submission using coupon DP50 (from just $11 premium, and $10 basic permanent )

Thank you, I have found that now, and tested it as if I were a user, and not the admin. My only problem now is that I can change the days (30, 60, 90, 180) but I can't change the prices at all. No matter what I put in there, it always says $0. Right now I have 1,1,1,1. I would assume that would mean $30 for 30 days, $60 for 60 days, and so on, but it still just says $0.

    Any ideas?

Also, the payment types included are 2co, egold, and paypal. I only use paypal, so I would like to remove the other two as options, but I don't see a 'disable' anywhere.

One last question, what is the difference between Premium and Sponsored listings? The user has the option to choose, but they seem the same to me. In the Admin control panel, there is only the ability to select and change 'Paid link' day periods and Price factor, but there is no mention of Premium or Sponsored, it just seems to group them both as one.

    Thanks,

    Greg

you make the difference up yourself between premium and sponsor - its as different as your imagination, you can make subtle changes, peopel can choose - OR comment out premium like i have

The pricing you enter in the catagories is per 30 days. In the setup you type the days you want first for example :

    days : 30,60,90,180

Now lets assume you set the catagories all to have the price $5

    1(30days) x $5 = $5
    2 (60days) x $5 = $10
    3 (90days) x $5 =$15
    6(180 days) x $5 = $30

so if you didnt want a discount the paid link factor will be 1,2,3,6 in the example above. this method allows you to offer a discount on the 6 months, for example you could say they saves $5 if they ordered 6 months of sponsorship by changing the last link factor from 6 to 5.

when a category page is first displayed, the links for that category are shown in two different groups. The first group that is displayed is the Sponsored group. the second group to be displayed are all of the remaining non-sponsored links.

Within the non-sponsored group of links is the Premium links. You control the look and feel of this group links just like you control the look and feel of the sponsored links. They can have the same look and feel of the sponsored links, if you wish. Or how ever you like. but the are grouped with all links not marked as sponsored.

Note to dody: as many times as this question has been asked, you should post a sticky about it.

Thank you everyone for your help. I was not changing the zero in each individual category, which is where you also showed me that is where the difference between Sponsored and Premium is set.

On a side note, I did do a forum search for this, but I didn't find anything, guess I put in the wrong words or something. I agree this should be a sticky, because even though it is now very easy for me to use, figuring it out lead me to come here.

    Thanks again everyone!
