not only links - also text

is it possible to include more text related material such as articles, and not only to have links?
i was thinking of a directory which i want to make more complete by also providing articles on the topic.
any plug-ins, add-ons etc - or any other solution out there?

Do you mean custom fields? In admin panel > links > custom field

no...
the directory is to be about auctions with links to auction firms etc.
also on the site i would like to have news articles about auctions, how auctions work, how to buy and sell at auctions, interviews with auction people etc
that is - more text related material which is not links.
is that possible?
