I just thought of some neat improvments so thoguth i would post see if it could arrive in the next version... ?

Track hits ot website AND hits to the detail page AND hits to the listing views when browsing a category.

When a visitor logs into modify or control panel they have a new "stats page" where they can see their visits to website, views of detail page, and views on the browse pages.

I wonder if you could record this information historically and graph it? thats a bit more involved though...

It would be nice as a way to show people the increase in traffic by sponsorship, and maybe a block could be made to compare the hits betwene sponsored and non sponsored so you can then show people the % increase in browse views, detail views, and website visits by becoming sponsored.

So there will be hit for out going link, category page, and detail page? The hits for out going link and category page is currently available, at least its recorded in database (see in admin panel > summary > Top category by hits). So the one we should add is hits for detail page. I think it's good idea too to have unique visitor (hits) and page view.

My idea was that on the control panel or modify page you could list :

Number of listing views on browse page : 1230
Number of listing views on detail page : 300
Number of visitors sent to your website : 100

if this could be graphed historically over 12 months you could create a graph for each of the above, if someone took out sponsorship they could see ont he graph how it improved exposure... i think this is a good selling point as it would definitely increase exposure atleast 40-50% and look very good as a graph, hopefully increase more repeat sales.

That would work, so people has an idea of how much potential traffic they would get - if you wanted to be really clever you could do the pricing structure based on the hits on the category from the previous month, so price increases automatically happened on the top 30% of categories.

Id their a way of counting hits ont he number of tiems a site is seen - as its not only displayed ont he browse page but also on the new, hot, index, (random block and the new and modified block) you risk under sellign how much the sites been seen just recording hits on the browse page.

I would like to see a Newsticker added to show my website news and new links added.

For newsticker, I think it's not important because there're a lot of newsticker script out there which can read rss. So by using them, the problem solved. Quick and easy.

I agree with dody on that, but it would be a good mod, if someone could come up with a nice ticker and turn it into a mod, then it would be easier for people to use down the line,

I guess this is what the purpose of mods is....
