Newsletter to webmasters

The webmaster nesletter can it include tags like <%$link_id%> ? i have no way of testing this !

if it cant, i would love this to be included in the next release, i want to send around a "please upgrade" email, and a reminder of the link ID will make it even easier.

A few people have mentioned this before, and i think it would also be nice to seperate the newsletter from the webmaster newsletter screens, then on the webmaster newsletter have 2 drop down menus where you can construct specific rules to send the emails out such as

Send to all webmasters WHERE (drop down with all fields .. Inc. custom fields)
is/ less than/ more than (text entry)

I would then like an "output to screen" button where an example of all the emails will be displayed without sending them, so i can check who will ge tht emails and that i have created the rule correctly, then send it!

I actually think their is a fair bit of work that can be done on this function if indexu, its a great promotion tool especially now with the superb payment integration. here are some ideas i have had :

1) opt-out of the webmaster mailing...
2) I have multiple listings with the same email address, one person would get the email 110 times... an option to exclude sending to the same email... ?
3) html emails...
4) more WYSIWYG .. the line wrap is different in the email.

I tested this today, it seems not to send anythign out? maybe a bug? Im limiting it to just atest lsitign using the filter, it says "emails sent out to" and lists my url , but i receive nothing.

By the way, shouldnt it list the email address not the url?

Its fixed - I updated all the files that are ont he svn as being changed and it worked, i think i had a mixture of files from updatign my site with the out of date nightly build as it wasnt updated... i realised this and re did the admina rea but had left the lib/link.class file and mailign list.php file as old versions.

this works brilliantly, its a great feature for targeted promotion
