Multiple Categories MOD

HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!

I'm working on a true multicategory MOD. So, in addition to the main category, the linkowner could select as many additional categories as he would like ( and as you would permit ).

If you have a site with a large number of links and categories and would like to test this, send me an email ( saintsr@indexuhelp.com ).

or maybe even if you don't have a large number of links and categories, but really need this and you have a fair amount of traffice, send me an email

What I need more are more related categories !
Some of my categories have as minimum 3 or 4 related categories and I don't know how to do this !

yep, I have been thinking about that also.

I may give it a try. I did have a quick look at it the other day and it did NOT appear to be easy. But I never know until I try.

Dealing with links is relatively easy but categories are not as easy since they could have "parent" categories.

the MOD will allow you to select as many additional categories as you want. For example: 3, 30, 300, 3, 000, 30,000 etc.

Sounds like a good mod, I'm surprised

It should be also able for admins and may be it is a good idea that the admin can set the maximum of possiblilities...

Where can I get this to test? I already have a mod for related categories. I can add like 15 cats under a category but I had it changed around so if you have Category A and you put 10 related categories those 10 categories show up in Cat A instead of the other way like before.

I am in the middle of a project ( http://www.indexuhelp.com/forum/inde...&start=0&rid=3 ). I need to get further along in that process before I do some more work on this MOD.

But, I doubt that I will ever complete the multiple category MOD using INDEXU specific code.

well, I did update the multiple category MOD. This allows a link to be listed in multiple categories - as many categories as you want. and it appears to be extremely fast. Faster than the original MOD that I created. But we are only difference of a matter of seconds so it is not a really big deal.

The main thing is that you are not limited to just three categories but works just like the three categories available in INDEXU.

it is nothing fancy but does show how it works. The first 55 links show links that are listed in other categories. the other links are from the J category:
