"Meta keyword" and "Meta description"

Hello,

Basic question, where do I change the "Meta keyword" and "Meta description" on the top page like index.php, new.php, etc.
I do not think they come from the database but I cannot figure out where they are coming from.

You can edit the meta tags in the header.html and cat_header.html

using simple html

Thank you for your reply. I think the meta tag in cat-header are coming from the database, aren't they the one you input when you create the category?
As for editing the meta tag in header.html, it imply that all the file whish are using this template will have the same description and keywords. I thought that "%meta keyword%" implided that it was a variable the same way that "%title%" is a variable and that variable is change in title.inc.php, Am I wrong?

NO, its not basic at all. Its kinda confusing myself.

for the index.html meta tags, I know you edit the header.html template.

in regards to hot.php you have to edit title.inc.php files, that is correct, but you can only edit header not meta tags.

what i've done to get more pages spidered was i included the link category path in my details page title, which works very well.

Thank you for your reply, I am also using the category hack but I wanted to be able to have different description/keyword for the different top page, it does not seem to be possible.
Here is what I did: I did create miror html page of the dynamic page and I summited them to the seach engine.

Just fill "Meta keyword" and "Meta description" fields in category properties page. admin->categories->edit
