Mass edit category fields Description, Meta keyword, Meta Description and Page Title?

Hello everyone,

I used the category database of my existing IndexU site for a new IndexU site, and now I have 334 categories with the wrong data in the fields Description, Meta keyword, Meta Description and Page Title. I would like to edit these fastest and easiest possible.

I tried the " mass edit mod" , but it is not as fast and easy for this specific field editing.

Does anyone know how to do this fastest possible. Maybe through phpMyAdmin or something? If possible I would like to have a list with the fields and their current data displayed, then edit them, and save all at once.

Hopefully this is possible somehow?

Do a csv download of your database from phpmyadmin and load into excel, edit then reupload.

There is an excel spreadsheet I made on the forum and listed on the mod repository that shows all fields and what data they should have.

Hi Bruce,

Thanks to your and Zubby's advice, I learned " it is also possible to use the database export function from IndexU Admin Panel, then edit it in your text editor. After everything is done you can import them back to using database import function (table : category, file format : tab delimiter file)" .

Also, by using the IndexU Admin menu-option " Find and replace" it is possible to change words in specific fields in the database fast and easy.

IndexU really is a great and very smart program, - respect to the persons who build it, and respect for you and the other experts who are helping out.
