    Default Invalid License?

I just installed indexu 5.0.3 and followed the instructions to the letter. I get the following error:

    Code:
    Your License is Invalid

     Scenarios for Invalid License:
      1) Possible Typo of license number provided
      2) Trying to use the script without a valid license
     3) You haven't put your licese in key.php file yet
     4) IP changes, try to reissue your license in client area
There is nothing in the instructions about the key.php file and I'm not sure what this is. I didn't even know that there apparently is some type of copy protection. Is it encoded?

This is disturbing but I hope that this is my own error. If there is copy protection, what is the mechanism? I'm very concerned also because it says "IP Changes" which can happen fairly easily, especially with the company that I bought the software for. What happens if you change hosts? I'm also concerned about subdomains, as I've bought an unlimited server license.

    Howdy Slinky,
Id suggest put in a support ticket, and include details of your site/sub domains, They should be able to help set you up pretty easily.

    Cheers Ezy

Thanks Ezy. I've just discovered that searching on "invalid" provided me with the information I needed. Unfortunately it looks like there is copy protection, which I didn't see anywhere presale, and it's not simply just tied to your domain. I needed to set up 4 directories in different subdomains which may also change servers (and thus IPs), this process may prove to be extremely challenging since it involves constantly connecting to nicecoder and also having to deal with support.

Thats true, Im sure though from reading the boards your not the only one in this situation, it might be worthwhile getting Dody or Zubby to look at the way its currently working, and to come up with a way that would work better for unlimited domain holders,

I noticed your question in the other thread about if the nicecoder site/server went down, would that effect sites... Im pretty sure it wouldnt, but it would be nice to get confirmation of this from Dody.

I hope they guys look after you and get you setup quickly and effectively...

    Cheers Ezy

the protection is really not that much to worry about, its only on admin panels. I cant belive your host changes its IP address often? why would it? changing IPs on a server that hosts many websites is very stressful and would very likely result in downtime, unless you moved your site to another server for some reason it sunlikely youll have a problem with the IP changing. I have one install on a subdomain without problems....

To insert the license key, see here http://www.indexuguide.com/Inserting...DEXUlicensekey

Once the key is activated, it will lock the domain and ip address. If your webhost change the ip, then you need to go to your client area > View License > and then click Reissue the license. It will release the old record and will lock the new domain and ip address.
