Default internal server error - help please

Hi.

Please excuse me - I am a slight beginner, although have managed similar uploads before )

Simply, I have uploaded the trial version of IndexU at

http://www.dorsetdaysout.co.uk - have tried ascII and auto mode to FTP files twice, and changed chmods as detailed in instructions.

But, as you will see - I just get internal server error message?

Can anyone give me some 'idiot proof' help here? Sorry if this is basic stuf.

If you are able to, here is a link to the info relating to my hosting account.

http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/hosting/l.../full-details/

I do have a new MySQL data base ready, but cannot get to the admin stage to enter this info.

I appreciate any advice anyone can give me.

Thanks in advance
Dan

Have you run the install/install.php?

1) Edit .htaccess and remove the Options line. .htaccess can be found in the following locations
/.htaccess
/admin_tpl/.htaccess
/themes/.htaccess

2) If you still get the 500 error then remove all .htaccess files

Also make sure you read the Install Guide. It details how to run the install process.

Just to add my two cents, dont forget that the "free / trail " version requires IonCube to be loaded on the server. Might want to ensure that is enabled on your server as well

Default thankyou!

Fantastic, thanks for your help guys. Fingers crossed, all seems OK now

Just one other question if its OK..

No emails seem to be getting through sent via my site? For example, if you try signing up to the new letter, or registering etc etc; no emails are recieved.

Can you give me any clues where to look to fix this?

If I run a test bulk mail via the admin, it says email is sent with no errors

Again, appreciate your help.
Dan

It's quite possible your host is blocking emails sent by "noone". If/when you upgrade to the paid version you can use SMTP to send email and that will solve that issue.
