Default IndexU, phpBB, OSCommerce, phpAdsNew...can they live in harmony?

Anyone ever try setting up any of these to work together?

I'd like to work out a system in which I have 2 user classes:
    (1) Webmasters/Advertisers
    (2) General visitors

Once logged in each webmaster or visitor will have a control panel (based on his user class). From the control panel he should be able to travel freely to and from each application...never having to login again.

This is way, way over my head, but I'd like to figure it out. I have seen modules linking phpBB & OSCommerce, but none of the others. Anyone have any tips on how I might go about researching such an endeavor? Anyone else interested in similar functionality?

Not sure what do you mean. But in indexu, webmaster do not have control panel. Members have. If members logged in and choose cookiee-ed his pc, then he will never login again, only once.

Why phpBB, I have bad experience with them. Never use them again. I'd prefer to invision board (http://www.invisionboard.com). I have made some researches to integrate with indexu. They have good quality at least near vbulletin, but I feel more than that.

Frank, at first indexu use phpbb. I'm quite happy for almost a year with it. At that time it's only the one rival to vbulletin.
Since it's open source and everyone can see its hole and weekness, it's become a risk.

Suddenly indexu forum attacked by hackers and change its content with f*ck and such of them. While I don't have database backup yet. Valueable content (hacks, trouble-shooting, questions, etc) is gone
We have developing forum content for a year, but only one night everything is lost. Then who takes the responsibility? no one!
Then I decide to go with vbulletin.

Todays I see that vbulletin have good rival, invision board. I tried and love it very much. Their coding are clean and well structured. You can see that they have good rating in hotscripts.com, in top ten. That is only my opinion.

Dody, after so many years of developing indexU, is there a loginshare module with vBulletin, Invisionboard, phpBB or SMF that's working and available for IndexU users? There was an initiative from you previously on SMF bridge, but any further updates on it for 5.4 integration?

I've been searching high and low for a ready mod or plugin. I'm disappointed that there's no suitable mods available and neither there's availability of accurate documentation on IndexU forum or from these script forums to provide users with information on how to achieve successful integration with them for loginshare.

It's difficult to built a community portal from a directory script without a forum to facilitate user interaction.
I'm curious. Any geek should be. I get burnt sometimes too!
