Default Indexu does not support PHP 5 which is very bad

I have got a web site buit by using indexu 5.4
the server providers upgraded thier hosting servers PHP 4 to PHP 5

now I am having a problem as some functions in my site does not work
    why ?
they replay came from the Nicecoder technical support

((IndexU 5.40 was designed for PHP 4 and the change to PHP5 may very well be causing your issue due to the changes in how PHP functions.))

so for how long I am going to wait until indexu 5.4 work completly in php 5

for everybody information when the server upgrades it will never return back

Default are you sure indexu 5.4 does not work with php 5?

I am using indexu 5.4 and php 5 and have not had any problems. What problems exactly are you facing?

IndexU 5.4x was written for PHP4, and it will never "support" PHP5.

IndexU Deluxe was written for PHP5

That may or may not have to do with the change in php versions, although I suspect that it strongly does.

As I said in the support ticket, IndexU 5.4x was written for PHP4, and we can only guarantee that it will run properly when on a PHP4 host.

for the who's online...just increase the cache in your admin settings.

regarding the links being automatically approved...there is a forum written by Dody in which he explains how to make all listings suspended (so that you can manually approve them).

I also had / have IndexU 5.4 running perfectly under PHP 5. The problem might not be so much that its PHP 5, but how your host compiled it.

The problem isn't with IndexU, unfortunately its with your host. If your interested in another host, PM me.

Default PHP 5 Works for Me

Same here, my host is providing PHP Version 5.2.5 and my 5.4.1 script works fine.

As has been said, it's the environment. Environment means the way your host installed/setup PHP.

IndexU 5.4x was written for PHP4, and it will never "support" PHP5.

IndexU Deluxe was written for PHP5
    Here are the facts:

    • Deluxe was not designed for PHP5.
    • Deluxe is INDEXU v6, which was an upgrade from INDEXU 5.4.
    • Deluxe does not use any PHP5-only functions.
    • Deluxe does not incorporate any of the functionally added to PHP5.
    • All current and past versions of INDEXU were written using just PHP4 code.
    • Deluxe will run on PHP5 or PHP4.
    • V5.4 will run on PHP5 or PHP4.
Any suggestions that are contrary to the above are inaccurate

not all features are working on php5 for iu5.4.x - i.e. rss importing with national characters.
