How to upgrade to 3.4

I am using 3.2 which I have heavily hacked to accomodate multibyte.
I wish to upgrade to 3.4, Is there a way to do this without messing things up?

I don't really remember but I know I changed everything that has character set to EUC and changed the mail() functions to mb_send_mail. in addition to translation.

Is it possible for me to install a separate copy, test it and then import the old data.

- cp/favorite_view.php

- /images/*

- lib/users.class.php
- lib/link.class.php
- lib/pagination.class.php

- /themes/* (you may not need to upload this, since only the design that changed)

Yes, you may upload the above files only.
There's no database changed from v.3.0.3 to 3.0.4.
You can use old db.

I am using 302 and I wish to move to 304.
I have done a lot of translation and modification to accomodate multibyte characters.

Is it OK to change the files you suggested above on 302?

Is my only option a fresh install??
If so how do I bring over my old links and categories. Do I ask all the link owners to resubmit their sites?
