Default How Do i Back Up IndexU

    Hello,

I'm just wondering what the quickest way to backup IndexU is? I would like to backup:

    1- the "categorieS"
2 - the "entries" or actually contents of the script
3 - The customized form "layouts" (templates?)..

How do i back up all the above?

I want to do this on a weekly basis *just in case* something should go wrong.

    Andrew.

Do a backup from the admin panel. (lef column towards bottom) It will backup 1. Categories 2. entries and keep the backup on the server. I was playing around with phpmyadmin yesterday and messed up the database and I just loaded the backup and it went back to where i backed it up. it was really nice. I suggest backing it up then ALSO downloading the backup on your harddrive.

As far as the layout, you really only need to backup if you make changes. From your cpanel you can backup your whole website. You can save it on the server and also download it to your computer.

Let me know if this was specific enough.

Another way is to use one of the backup scripts available from one of the script sites (e.g hotscripts.com). Basically what you do is to set-up a cron job (automatically run the scripts) so that the script generates a backup of your database on a daily basis.

Most hosting companies provides the cron option - if not, then you can always host your site with our company and we will help you to set things up.

    Good luck

I tried to do a backup of the database today (/admin/db_backup.php) but it did not work (without gzip module).

Anyone got an idea of how to do this?
