Thread: Help Needed Urgently

    Default Changing webhosting complications

    Case:

    1) Changed webhosting (i.e. IP), and domain name.

    2) Uploaded Original Script (paid), re-install clean.

    3) Re-issue license. After installing, received an initial license error, but no further error message subsequently as I checked key file and reissue license again based on Dody's recommendation in another licensing thread.

    4) Confirmed Client Area license is updated correctly.

    5) IndexU running is Ok. When trying to login as User or Admin, unable to get passed the login page. The next page is always Blank page.

    Submitted to support awaiting for reply. Appreciate any inputs if available.

    Lesson learnt: Try to not to change licensed domain and webhosting, while implementing new script. Too many changes... sigh...

    Default In addition...

    I don't think it is a licensing problem. The script was working fine with my previous webhosting, but not with godaddy.com:

    1) The banner.gif is not showing up. I have checked the permission, reloaded it and even directly accessing it. It just do not show up. I tried using the browser to open the banner.gif on my PC and it is fine. So I concluded that there is something wrong abt the server.

    2) register.php, login.php (redirected via domain.com/admin), etc... or it seemed everything that has "session" isn't working. They do not show the following page, e.g. after submitting registration, or after login in as User, or for admin.

    3) I have checked safemode to be off. As for register_global and magic_quote_gpc, both on and off doesn't work either. Anyway, one of the file forces them to turn on.

    4) I have checked the phpinfo.php against my previous hosting (account not cancelled yet), and found the key param to be the same.

    Going nuts over this weekend. Please assist if possible.

    Default Found the problem

    I think the problem is with the "auth class", after checking error log and confirming by setting my php.ini display error to ON.

    Current host PHP: 5.0.4 (auth problem)
    Previous host PHP: 5.1.2 (no problem)

    As in other scripts, suggest that you store several compatible versions of the software at the download area so that we can download.

    For minor errors, we can find the forum or ask questions. But if it is really the "auth class" problem in the other thread, I think there should be different versions of packages for diff. popular server config. available as downloads. I think it is a waste of time finding the error when it could have been resolved by "compatibility matching versions" (versioning control).

    Just a suggestion as it is 2am now and I am completely exhausted having spent more than 6 hrs trying to figure out the problem, rather than on the directory and design.

    What version of IndexU are you running? Do you have all the Changesets added?

    I know I had a problem with auth.class which Changeset 323 helps with.

    I am using the latest 5.2.0, just bought this earlier this week. I will try and take a look there, thanks for the advise.

    Hi Barnett, how did you access the trac, it says permission denied for /

    I can access the svn using the password in the Client Area, but I don't see any access details for the trac. I believe the changeset is at the trac?

    Default banner.gif

    Hey, now I cannot see the "banner.gif" anywhere, not on my old server, my new server, or even at

    http://www.nicecoder.com/indexu/demo/index.php

    I used both IE and Firefox and its the same. But I can still see the animated gif if I use the browser to open the file locally.

    What is going on???

    Change 323 WORKS!!!!!!!

    Now its time to get back to design...

    I have to explain how I feel right now: It is like getting stuck on an island for a long time. Now that I am back in the City, I feel like a total lost. haha
