Question german INDEXU forum? and other languages...

what about a german INDEXU forum?
    and other languages...
i think not everybody speaks excellent english. me included.
sometimes i got problems and don`t know how to tell it in english.
A german forum would be great so i can tell my problems
without having problems in misunderstandings and so on...
    you know what i mean?

btw: i think support in other languages could bring some more users to INDEXU.

    hi acio,

I'm from Germany too. But actually I don't think there is any need for splitting up this forum into different languages.

If there would be a forum for every native language of indexu users, there would be probably hundreds of forms ;-).
It dooesn't matter if you speak good English or not. I'm sure everyone will understand you. If not, people will tell you. Stay in one language and everyone will benefit from the threads. That's what a forum is about!

    nevermind... was just an idea.

greetz and have a nice weekend.

It's not wrong with acio idea. vbulletin have this kind too. But it require indexu skilled moderator with germany. I myself only speak indonesian javanese (not japanese) and a little bit of english

It's true, we have quite many germany users, the most europe
Perhaps next when the community become biger and there're a lot of indexu master, we'll open for international forum.

Right now we are all pretty much dependent on dody to solve any problems. As he says, it will take someone who uses INDEXU who also has the time and the expertise to fill dody's role in a German language ( or any language ) forum. And if that person stops then you will need to find a replacement or it's back to the english forum

GT Links 2 has a german forum I believe but it is a private forum not connected with GT

I can certainly appreciate the language problem. While I might be able to read something written in Spanish, I'm sure I would not be able to write much. But I could work at it.

So, I have been able to understand most of the posts so everyone's english is very good. But I don't know much PHP or mysql. It may take a few posts but I believe everyone's english is good enough to find out what the problem and how to solve it.

But I am sure there are some who have INDEXU and do not know much english. They do not have much help.

As a suggestion, what if we had a LANGUAGE forum where someone who knows little or no english could post a message in their native language. Then someone who can translate, posts the message in english. The repsonse could be in english and then that same person could translate it back into the native lanugage.

That would be a lot of extra work but if the forum was limited to those who had little or no english or who could not find the right english words, it might be worth it.

    one last thing.

Google.com has a translate page which will translate anything from text to an entire page.

Here is the german version of the above: (Do they say the same thing?)

eine letzte Sache. Google.com hat eine Übersetzungsseite, die alles vom Text zu einer gesamten Seite übersetzt. Ist hier die deutsche Version vom oben genannten: (sie sagen die gleiche Sache?),

Hmmm...maybe the suggestion of a native language section might not be too bad.

Or maybe include the german version (or other language) along with you best english. We could translate it to english and see if they match.

    Default german forum

    ai,

no problem for me to translate some things from german into english and back, but you know my english
Could be a nice support for german users with lesser php & html knowledge - such like me
Sofiah - do you remember my last not answered email - Germany..

esm: Your php knowledge and your hacks are great !!!
    Your Google tranmslation, too

By the way, I'm searching a way t put a dynamic translation link into my site. Something like a special header in every site, that opens the translation in fixed languages.

    Some ideas ?

    Greetings from Germany

Yep, google is not perfect but it may help if someone's english is not too good or if the problem is complicated. They could provide it in thier native language and we could use google to translate it to english (or whatever). then we could have both - the original version in english and the translated version.

But maybe only if language is a problem...

Could you do me a favor and write the following in german. I'd like to translate it to english:

I could not get this section of code to work in the DisplayHotListing function of link.class.php

But when I replace it with the following:

Now it seems to work as it should.

I'll leave it to the PHP experts to code it more efficiently.

    Cool ;)

I could not get this section of code to work in the DisplayHotListing function of link.class.php
But when I replace it with the following:
Now it seems to work as it should.
I'll leave it to the PHP experts to code it more efficiently.

Hm, where do you come from ?
Not perfekt and we will see what Googly says..

"Der Code-Schnipsel geht bei mir nicht in der "Display Hot Listing" ("Zeige Hot Liste ?") Funktion in der link.class.php.
Aber wenn ich Folgendes ersetze: ....
Jetzt scheint es zu klappen () (laufen, arbeiten) wie es soll.
Ich überlasse es den PHP-Experten den Code zu optimieren.

well here is the google translation of what Frank wrote

"the code chip does not go with me into" the displays Hot listing "("show Hot list?") Function in link.class.php.

But if I replace the following: ....

Now it seems to fold () (run, work) like it is.

I leave it to the PHP experts the code to optimize.

The part that did not work was

    Code:
I could not get this section of code to work in the DisplayHotListing function of link.class.php
    google translated it to

    Code:
"the code chip does not go with me into" the displays Hot listing "("show Hot list?") Function in link.class.php.
    If it wrote as:

    Code:
    this part does not work
    Then google translates it properly.

Now, I will learn how to write for google translations.
