Discrepancy in the numbers when importing from version 2 to 3.04

Did anyone sort out the discrepancy in the number of links reported when importing version 2 links/categories data into version 3.04?

In version 2, it reports 1926 links but the latest version reports only around 1670. The correct figure is version 2 (1926) as I found out when I loaded the exported links file into a text editor.

Same sort of problem with the categories too.

I'm not too sure phil. I had no problems importing my database into the new database.


Maybe try pointing the new installation to your old database or try update links in the admin control panel.

did you delete links or add new categories before you imported?

the first thing you should do in a new installation is import your old backed up database before adding new links or categories.

Do you have phpmyadmin? You can use it to see the real number of links.

phpMyAdmin reads 1926 too !!

Obviously some records are not being imported. Have you set any import rules?

Should mention I also used phpMyAdmin on the new version installation and that reads 1670.

Where you see it? In admin cp -> summary?
Do you use v.3.0.4 with patch2?

Before importing the links, I installed the april version 3.0x and then installed the upgrade dated june 9th.

I see 1670 links in the Indexu v.3.0.4 Administrator Control Panel.

Do I import categories or links first?
