Difference between free, premium and sponsered listing

I am not getting this straight in my mind, can please some one help me explaining what is the difference between free, premium and sponsored listing? Or what difference can we create between them?

If a customer sign in and get free listing why should then he want to pay for other two types of listing?

I purchase INDEXU last month, since then trying to implement a strategy how to launch this and offer this product to the customer.

Any suggestions and help will be highly appreciated.

for me position on listings pages is th ebiggest thing, you can create an eye catching template for the paid listings, maybe make a block to curculate paid listings ont he main page, extra options for people who have paid... maybe they could have a photograph? (simple if statment in smarty, i would display a photo that said "this user has chosen not to upgrade the listing and sisplay a photo) this will encourage payment.

Its up to you to create the differences.

On rows.html for me im using a height restricted div tag see my site (in development, some of it doesnt work) here

I plan on offerign the premium rows a double length div tag so its twice the size of listing they get, maybe an extra photo

Is it possible we can make free listing expire in 14 or 30 days, item can only be list more then that if user upgrade to peremium or sponsored?? User will get email 3 days etc. before it expires advising to upgrade?

related question: is there a way to set the order such that premium listings are at the top of the category results/listings, followed by sponsored listings, and free listings. right now, premium and sponsored seem to be given the same page priority (even though a premium listings suggest just that, premium, top ...). it doesn't make sense to have a sponsored listing above a premium listing???
