    Unhappy creating a custom page

gone into admin pannel and created a custom page called "forums.html"

This sits in the template root.

added the followng link to the file in my index.html

    PHP Code:
    <a href="<%$tpl_base%>/forums.html" class="list_item">Forums</a
cleared my cache and refresed the browser, clicked the link and im told
    PHP Code:
    Access forbidden!
    [
    B]Error 403[/B
indexu has not created a corrosponding "forums.php" file in the indexu base.

I havent ever linked to a .html extention in indexu only .php,

Its very possible that when the custom page was created, it was created with the permissions of 'nobody', which could be causing the issue.

echo... Is this on my server or at your other host?

nope its on my xampp installation locally, its my test setup before i upload.

O.K so am i right indexu will create an associated .php file to compliment the .html.

If so ill just mimic the process on my online indexu and ftp the file back to my local box.

    thanks

Btw : on my xampp all the files are chmod 777, and the .html file "forum.html" does exist, Ive check all the paths also

NOPE doesnt even work on my online indexu site.

You don't have permission to access /themes/bluesmooth/test.html on this server.
How do you link to a custom page in the themes directory?

    please

    sweet, ive worked it out

if you create a custom page (i.e "forums.html" , refer to it using "page.php?id=forums" (without the extention on the end)
