    Default Cleandex Problems

Apparently I am unable to chmod cleandex template files. I have set as active the cleandex template but it gives me an error Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "blocks/block.whos_online.html" in /home/vacatio/public_html/lib/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088. Also rss images are not showing. I have tried to chmod the cleandex template files to 777 but no matter what I do I am unable to do it. I am using cuteftp and also tried to do it through the cpanel’ file manager. It gives me an error “ Operation not permitted"

Does the file block.whos_online.html exist in /themes/cleandex/blocks/ ???

The file doesn't need to be 777 in order for IndexU to 'read' it... Only if it needed to 'write' to it. Even if the file is there, I'd try to re-upload it again. Its also possible that the file got corrupted during transfer.

Let me know if this helps

No the file does not exist. I have tried to upload it but I get a data connection error. I am not able to upload anything under the Cleandex theme. What settings should I change to be able to upload?

    thank you

How did you install the Cleandex theme? Are you using cPanel? Make sure that the Cleandex group owner isn't 'nobody'. If it is, you'll need to ask your host to change. Thats the only reason I can think that your unable to upload anything.

Either way, I would talk with your host.

You get a data connection error? That's likely a host issue. I would contact them in regards to this.

The fie does exist in the zip archive for cleandex.

Sorry is a timeout error. I have imported the cleandex template thorught the admin. I am assuming that is why I am unable to chmod or uplad files in the cleandex folder. If I ftp the cleandex folder under themes would that work?

I have a funny feeling that because you imported it through the admin panel, the group permissions set to it is 'nobody'. This is why you dont have permissions to upload to the folder or do anything with it.

Contact your host and ask them to change the group permissions back to your account name.

Yes exactly! I have requested change of the ownership of the cleandex folder and works fine now. Thank you very much for all the help and support!

    Glad it worked out!

Yeah, I've never been a fan of using scripts to upload files. Better off using FTP program, for just this reason

FTP is always better, as a note if you are a cpanel user you should be able to use cpanel to change ownership (to yourself only) and permissions.
