but i could not find any Complete and nice icon set for a directory.

I dont know if your going to find stock graphics that are specifically for directories. You might have to piece meal it.

become a member of istockphoto

It me a long while to get a bunch of icons for my categories, its quite tiresome

i have already been there, could not find enough icons fitting the directory.
but bruce gave me a good option.
