    Default Category selection on submit

I'm hitting a problem with categories...here's the structure

    Top category (no submission allowed)
    Sub cat 1 (submission allowed)
    Sub cat 2 (submission allowed)
    Sub cat 3 (submission allowed)

The problem is that when a user tries to create a submission, the top category is not showing in the category drop down, only the sub cats are visible but the user can't view the relationship. I've tried turning ajax on but that makes matters worse as the top & sub cats disappear completely!

And yes, I have rebuilt the category structure several times.

This category selection issue also affects the Power search option.

that may be nice for you but since the solution is not publically posted for other owners of INDEXU, not so nice for others who may need to change their copy of INDEXU.

The policy of not providing the information of possible bugs, changes, etc in a public manner for all INDEXU owners was a problem with the previous owner of INDEXU that has been perpetuated by the new owner. We have to beg the owner, you in this particular case, to post that information here in the forum for the rest of us.

It is just one of the things that will forever keep INDEXU from being considered one of the best directory scripts.

Yes, I am aware of the "nightly build/changeset" but that is not the answer to this problem (think about it a few minutes and you will understand why. which BTW, is kinda like the current INDEXU policy of telling you that a solution exists but NOT what the solution is).

How about Mr Milton.... Do you care to change the policy of not providing responses in a public manner for all INDEXU owners....???

I don't know who Zubby is but I bought the script yesterday and have the same problem as you did. Can you please post the solution?

You replied to a thread that is 7 months old, it's not likely that anyone will answer you. Not only that but you asked me the same question in a support ticket.

Ask in one place or the other, not both.
