Captcha Problem

Hi Everyone,

I'm having an ongoing problem with the captcha on my site. Captcha doesn't work anywhere. The image appears, it changes each time you push enter but always gives an Invalid turing number error.

Zubby gave me a fix that worked briefly but it stopped. I don't know if it's related, but my site is running extremely slow today.

I'm running 5.4.1 and a Cleandex template.

My site has been unusable since Friday night! Any suggestions?

I would suspect it's server related. Did you not submit a ticket for this?

Yes, I did turn in a ticket. I started a ticket Friday night at 9pm. I've added to the ticket asking about status and got no reply.

The last reply I received from you was Monday at 12:08am saying you had sent an email to the programmer.

I did, but when he looked and then emailed me, the captcha was working so there was nothing for either of us to do..

The problem is very intermittent. However, I found it to fail with 5 or fewer tries. And once it has failed, it seems to stay broken (at least for a while).

And the site is definitely slow today. It might be a server issue but other things I have there are running normally.

Neither Dody nor I have any explanation yet. Please reply to your ticket so that it will open again and I'll get Dody to look into it.

The ticket is reopened.

Also, I found if you keep trying to put in the correct number, it will work. Sometimes on the second, third or even sixth try but it will eventually work.

I have the same issue. Can you post any fix for that ?

I have 2 servers with a lot of IU 5.4.1 directories. And only one directory based on cleandex not working. It always shows me "innvalid turing number". On the second server the same skin works perfectly

look: jafse.com - turing number works, pejto.pl - not working. Dunno why.

I have set up the same PHP version 5.2.x (only mysql is different) - any ideas ?

We've found this issue is typically a caching issue. Trying adding the following to header.html

<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache" />
<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" />

edit: tested on FF3.x and IE7.0

edit:2 - changed template to kosmos - no problem with that... any help will be apreciated because I have made a lot of work with cleandex on pejto. Unfortunately I can;t understand why it is working on jafse.com !
