Cannot approve new links/ upload not working

Hi there hope someone can help with this..

I have installed 3.0.4 but have two issues.

A. new link added by user is added to the directory without admin approval. Is there a way to turn on admin must approve first? guess there must be but I cannot find it.

B. Upload image function does not seem to work or show up in the user add link page.

P.S to the Indexu team, a little bit of documentation would save you a lot of questions...

I just talked to dody about that same problem about links being added without admin approval. Its a new bug with 3.0.4, which somehow was programmed to setup so the category was set by default to no approval by editor.

you have to run this into your query box in the alter section

update idx_category set permission = '1'


that should set all categories to require admin


To do this manually, you'll have to go to the category/ edit/view and scroll to the middle and change the cat permission to require editors approval.

I think a patch needs to be written to reset the category default setting. Everytime you add a new category, you'll have to reset it to requires approval.

I don’t think it is a bug really. It is just a preference in what you want to the default settings to be. Since I am jut in the process of filling my directory with links (no visitors yet) it was helpful in the beginning to have auto approve on. The easiest way around it is when your setting up a new category remember to turn auto approve off.
