Default Bug? Should it work this way?

When a user is logged in, I don't think the script should allow you to register a different username. Every other script I have ever used hides the register link when a user is logged in. If they access the register page by typing the url directly or by a link when they are logged in, they should be redirected to somewhere else (index.html?). I would not call this a bug by definition, it is however an overlooked part of the script that should be fixed. I am able to sign up under a new username and confirm my registration, all while still being logged in under a different username.

Also, should we allow people to register multiple accounts using the same email address? I think users should be allowed to use their email address for one account only. If not, why is there a lost password link? Just have them sign up for a new account.

Definately something that should be looked into.

Just like forum software, an IndexU owner should be given the choice if they want users to require a unique email address for signup or not. I agree with you, but it's always better to give a potential owner the choice.

I agree it should be a choice to have a unique email address.

Please do look into getting the issue of re-registering when a user is looged in looked into.

I am finishing up a mod and I will put it as a top priority to look into it myself when I am done. If I can fix it, who would I submit the code to for approval to include it in the core files? Dody? You?

Mods have never really been added to the base code just because they were submitted as far as I know. It's probably easier for Dody to write the code and add it himself than it is to try and incorporate someone else's code.

Of course you can write it! Dont' get me wrong on that. And you would simply submit it to the forum and if Dody chooses to then he could use it, incorporate it or at least use the theory/idea.

But to be perfectly honest, only Dody could answer that question.
